Established in 2015, The African Market Place (A.M.P.) originated from a "Sankofa Consciousness Workshop" led by Ra James West at the Sojourner Truth Museum. A.M.P. serves as a platform for black-owned and operated businesses to showcase their skills and goods to the community, aiming to expand their customer base. Every first and third Saturday of the month, we gather to honor our culture, creativity, and unity. This market symbolizes a movement – a tribute to Black excellence where legacies take root.
